Sunday November 6th is “Orphan Sunday”
Did you know that there are more than 140 million orphans worldwide? Are you aware that more than 127,000 of them live in the USA? Often, pro-lifers are accused of caring only about the pre-born children rather than those who are born rather than aborted. We all know that is not true and as pro-life advocates, we should be supportive of these parentless children. This site will give you some ideas to share with your church, family and other spheres of influence. http://orphansunday.org/
First it’s our tax dollars, then the Susan G. Komen foundation, and now we learn that even the United Way is helping to fund the nation’s largest abortion provider. Find out more here.
OCTOBER BABY is a coming of age story of Hannah, a beautiful 19-year-old college freshman. Hannah has always felt like an outsider. Something is missing. She has always carried a deep-seated sense that she has no right to exist.
When she discovers she was adopted it comes as a shock, but Hannah’s world is rocked even more when she learns why she was never told before – because she was the survivor of a failed abortion. Desperate for answers, she embarks on a road trip with some friends (including her oldest and closest friend Jason) to find her biological mother. In the process she unexpectedly discovers hope, love and forgiveness. Click here for more information and to see a trailer of the movie.
The National Federation of Republican Assemblies held its national convention last week in Iowa and in its endorsing process, delegates selected Rick Santorum as their choice for the Republican Presidential nomination and Herman Cain for the Vice Presidential spot. They also passed a pro-life resolution which “supports the right to life of all innocent persons, from fertilization to natural death” and deems Personhood as created by God from the “very beginning of their biological development.” For full details, go here.
Most of the Republican candidates seeking the GOP Presidential nomination have signed the pro-life pledge put forward by the Susan B. Anthony group, including Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum. Candidates who have not signed are Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, and Gary Johnson. As his poll numbers remain high, Cain has received more and more national media attention. In recent interviews, Cain’s position on the sanctity of life has become somewhat muddied. Below are links to his most recent clarifying statements.

Some political experts are predicting that the strong field of Republican candidates might result in the Party’s National Convention in Tampa next August being the final decision-maker on who carries the GOP banner against President Obama.
