Georgette Mosbacher to Co-Chair McCain’s Campaign
Aides to presidential candidate Sen. John McCain say they are
thrilled that Georgette Mosbacher, former wife of former Commerce
Secretary Robert Mosbacher, has agreed to co-chair his campaign. Ms.
Mosbacher is pro-abortion and a member of the board of the Republican
Leadership Council (RLC), a well-heeled group made up mostly of
northeastern liberal Republicans that was started by pro-abortion N.J.
Gov. Christine Todd Whitman. The RLC works to elect pro-abortion
candidates, defeat truly pro-life candidates, and remove the pro-life
plank from the Republican Party Platform.
Choose Life!
Florida Eagle Forum legislative director Carole Griffin was on hand
as Gov. Jeb Bush signed a of a bill authorizing the “Choose Life”
automobile license tag. Congratulations, Florida pro-lifers! Your
persistence paid off.
God Bless Rep. Tom Coburn!
On June 8th the House voted 217 - 214 (with 2 Republicans and 2
Democrats not voting) to block the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
from issuing final approval for RU-486, the abortion drug, or any other
drug designed to cause an abortion. (Because of the abortion industry’s
successful use of twisted language, other drugs that cause abortion like
Preven, oral contraceptives and Depo Provera will not be blocked because
their stated “purpose” is to “prevent pregnancy,” while the purpose of
RU-486 is to cause a chemical abortion.) Rep. Tom Coburn (R-OK) offered
the amendment to the Agriculture Appropriations Bill. 181 Republicans
and 36 Democrats voted pro-life. 173 Democrats voted pro-abortion along
with 40 Republicans. The bill will soon go to the Senate and then to a
House-Senate Conference Committee where we will be fighting to keep the
Coburn amendment. Please ask your Senators to vote to block FDA
approval of the chemical abortion-causing agent, RU-486. Capitol

director Sheila Moloney for this report.
“Pill Bills” Force Mandate on Small Businesses
A well-written letter-to-the-editor of the Las Vegas Review Journal by Chuck Mutch, chairman of the Nevada Republican Liberty Caucus, spells
out the costly implications of legislation forcing insurance coverage of
contraceptives and abortion-causing drugs. Referring to Assembly Bill
60, recently enacted by the Nevada Assembly, Mr. Much makes the
excellent point that promoters of the so-called “pill bill” are hiding
their “social agenda by forcing private businesses to provide the
goodies in the form of government mandates. The government is now
telling a private business - insurance companies - what services and
products it MUST provide to its customers - contraceptive drugs. This
is like the government telling McDonalds that it MUST provide guacamole
as a condiment for all its sandwiches. That means a higher cost of
doing business, which means higher prices for hamburgers, which, of
course, will be passed on to the customer.”
Not only are insurance companies being forced to cover these
destructive drugs, but small business owners who are pro-life and
conscientiously object to paying for such coverage for their employees,
will either exclude these drugs from the policies they buy, or drop
coverage of prescription drugs altogether.
Mr. Mutch ended his letter by stating that, “ . . . social
activists have set their sights on businesses as the vehicle for
accomplishing their leftist objectives without incurring the wrath of a
conservative-leaning electorate. What is harder to understand, though,
is how so many so-called “conservative” Democrats and so-called
“business friendly” Republicans were sucked in by this new brand of
social engineering and voted for it.”
Please don’t let a “pill bill” pass in YOUR state!
