Lawsuits Plague Planned Parenthood “After nearly 30 years of killing babies, abusing women and corrupting our children with virtual impunity, Planned Parenthood is discovering that the courts who threw open the doors for them to practice unrestricted abortion are not afraid to throw the book at them when they’re caught ruining the lives of the women they claim to care so much about. “Beginning just over a year ago, a surprising number of patients initiated lawsuits, charging their Planned Parenthood physicians with everything from malpractice to medical incompetence. “Only the first few of these cases have been completed, but already the damages assessed against Planned Parenthood are well into the millions of dollars. “Most observers close to this relatively new phenomenon -- of holding abortionists responsible for ruining the lives of those patients they don’t kill -- say that it’s highly likely that the number of these lawsuits will increase exponentially as women become more acquainted with their rights and less intimidated to tell their stories in public. “If these experts are right, the abortion industry’s own arrogant disregard for their patients' health could turn out to be the death blow that brings them down, once and for all.” (Judie Brown’s Weekly Commentary, American Life League, April 12, 2001.)
In the April 18th edition of Washington Update, which is sent via facsimile to thousands of Americans, FRC’s Ken Connor had this to say: “I have profound respect for Pat Robertson and all he has done to champion faith and family. Family Research Council defended him last year when he was subjected, along with the Rev. Jerry Falwell, to an unwarranted political attack. But these statements, and the clarification that failed to clarify, are misguided and just plain wrong. China’s “dilemma of massive proportions” is its desire for prosperity and progress without liberty. Its lack of freedom for families under the one-child policy is part and parcel of its severe limits on religious, economic, and political freedom across the board. “There must be much rejoicing in Beijing when a man of the stature of Pat Robertson squanders his greatest asset - moral authority.” | |
