Group Calls for Boycott of Cincinnati Race For the Cure on April 27
The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer reports that Ohio attorney Susan Marie Gertz has asked pro-life groups to notify our subscribers that the Susan G. Komen Foundation gave $25,000 in grants to Cincinnati Planned Parenthood this past year. Evidence of this can be found on this website: http://www.komencincinnatirace.org/grant.html

She explained that, "Abortion is a risk factor for breast cancer, and yet Planned Parenthood refuses to disclose this important health information to women."

We urge residents in other states to check the web for a record of Susan G. Komen Foundation grants given to local Planned Parenthood affiliates. Last year, grants were given to the abortion provider's affiliates by a number of the Komen state organizations.

Scalia Sees No Abortion Right in U.S. Constitution
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, during a luncheon in Buffalo, NY on March 13, re-emphasized his view that women don t have a constitutional right to an abortion. My votes in abortion cases have nothing to do with my pro-life views, Scalia said after his speech at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo. They have to do with the text of the Constitution. And there is nothing, nothing in the Constitution that guarantees the right to an abortion.

When it comes to the Constitution, Justice Scalia said, It says what it says, and it ought not to be twisted. We have an enduring Constitution, not a living one. He said the appropriate way to deal with an issue that demands updating judicial precedent or the Constitution is by legislative action or, where appropriate, a constitutional amendment.

He dismissed the idea that abortion is a constitutionally protected right, but he also said the Constitution doesn t explicitly prohibit abortions, either. He indicated the issue ultimately should be decided by a constitutional amendment. (Buffalo News, 3/14/02) Indeed! Imagine the progress the pro-life movement could have made over these past 30 years if pro-life leaders had focused like a laser beam on the goal of a constitutional amendment that would include unborn babies as persons under the law. Imagine what Congress would be like today, had pro-life leaders conditioned their support for candidates of either party on a 100% respect for innocent human life from conception, no exception no compromise, along with a commitment to vote for a human life amendment to the Constitution!

Is it too late? We think not. What do you think?
