The producers of "bella" struggled for a long time to find a distributor for their beautiful film about love, life, devotion, sacrifice, family and friendship. A distributor was finally secured with the stipulation that it would release it in just 31 cities and 165 theaters. If the film has exceptional box office sales during a two-week period, they would spend the millions of dollars necessary to distribute it nationwide.

"Bella" opened on Friday, October 26th and has succeeded beyond the major players' expectations, reports LifeNews.com (10/31/07). It had the second-highest per-theater sales last weekend as it took in $1.3 million and about $8,000 per venue.

Its success is due in large part to the fact that pro-lifers across America have flocked to the theaters to see the film. We hope you will see it this weekend. If you have already seen it, see it again and take someone with you. You will be inspired and moved and very glad you did!

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison recently announced the possibility that she may leave the United States Senate prior to the completion of her term in 2013 which gives rise to the speculation that she intends to return to Texas to run for Governor in 2012. The probability that she would seek the Governor's office has been a subject of discussion among Texas' political watchers for many years.

We remind pro-life voters in Texas that Senator Hutchison is not pro-life. She is on record as supporting legal abortion until viability. She is a strong supporter of research that involves the killing of human embryos. While Senator Hutchison has voted for legislation designed to regulate or restrict the practice of abortion to some extent, she does not support ending legal abortion in America. She is on record in opposition to the pro-life plank in the Republican National Platform and, as a member of The WISH List (Women in the Senate and House), supports their efforts to raise funds to help elect pro-abortion-choice Republican women to Congress.

We trust there will be pro-life, pro-family candidates for the Republican nomination for Governor in 2012 whether or not Senator Hutchison decides to run. In the meantime, it is important for pro-life Texans to inform friends, family members and colleagues of the true nature of her views on life issues.

Governor Rick Perry's endorsement of Rudy Giuliani for the 2008 Republican Presidential nomination indicates that he may think his political future lies with the elitist Rockefeller wing of the Republican Party rather than with the conservative, pro-life and pro-family base of the Party with which he has been aligned since switching from the Democrat Party in 1989. The darling of NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) and NOW (National Organization for Women), Rudy Giuliani vigorously supports legal abortion.
