RNC/Life PAC Announces List of Endorsed Candidates for Congress 
The following candidates for election or re-election to Congress have completed the Republican National Coalition for Life Candidate Questionnaire. Their answers have qualified them for endorsement by Republican National Coalition for Life PAC.

The criteria upon which we established the questions are based on the pro-life principles stated in Republican National Platforms since 1984. They include recognition of the fact that an unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed, support for a human life amendment to the U.S. Constitution, extension of Fourteenth Amendment protections to unborn children, opposition to taxpayer funding of abortion or organizations which advocate it, support for the appointment of judges at every level who respect the sanctity of human life, and opposition to assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Candidates who seek endorsement by RNC/Life PAC must accept the scientific fact that a human being comes into existence at fertilization/conception and deserves legal protection until natural death. They must oppose the legal right to abortion if the baby was conceived through rape or incest, has a physical handicap or genetic defect, or in the case of the health of the mother as defined in Doe v. Bolton.

NOTE: The 2008 Republican National Platform, adopted by the Delegates to the 2008 Republican National Convention, was strengthened by the inclusion of additional pro-life language.

The 2008 Platform repeats the previous Platform’s call for a ban on human cloning. In addition, the new Platform calls for a ban on scientific experiments on human embryos.

A call for a ban on federal funding for drugs that cause the destruction of human life is also included. This language covers drugs such as RU-486 and Plan B as well as drugs intended for use in assisted suicide.

These issues are included in the RNC/Life Candidate Questionnaire, and we are grateful for the hard work of the pro-life members of the Platform Committee who offered the necessary amendments and the majority who voted for them.
